3-time champion Bubba Watson returning to Travelers Championship

The Travelers Championship Tuesday announced that three-time tournament winner Bubba Watson has committed to play in the 2022 PGA Tour event. 

Watson has won 12 times on the tour, with his victories at TPC River Highlands taking place in 2010, 2015 and 2018.

Watson’s first win on the PGA TOUR came at the Travelers Championship in 2010, when he needed a playoff to beat Corey Pavin and Scott Verplank. 

Eleven tour victories have followed, including two major championships. Watson won the Masters in 2012 and 2014. 

Watson is looking to become just the second player to win the Travelers Championship four times. Billy Casper won in 1963, 1965, 1968 and 1973.

The 2022 Travelers Championship will be held at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell starting on Wednesday, June 22.
