Albertus Magnus promotes trio to leadership roles

Albertus Magnus College has promoted three faculty members to leadership positions in its division of academic affairs.

The promotions are effective July 1.

Ross Edwards, a Hamden resident, will be the dean of academic affairs for the traditional undergraduate program. He joined Albertus in 2012 and is currently an associate professor in the college’s department of history and political science.

William Aniskovich of Branford, a former state senator, will serve as dean of the Tagliatela School of Business and Leadership.

Jonathan Sozek has accepted the position of director of the college’s newly established arts and humanities collaborative. It includes the arts, communication, English, history, political science, languages and culture, and philosophy and religion departments.

Physician named CEO of Aware Recovery Care

Aware Recovery Care recently appointed physician Dr. Brian Holzer to serve as its new chief executive officer.

Based in Wallingford, Aware Recovery Care provides addiction and substance abuse treatment.

Holzer succeeds Founder Steve Randazzo as CEO. Randazzo is transitioning to chairman of the company’s board, and he will continue to provide both support and guidance to the company.

Holzer comes to Aware with over 20 years of experience in large and small public and private healthcare companies. Most recently, he was president of innovations at Kindred Healthcare. In this role, he also founded and served as CEO of Lacuna Health, which provides patient engagement solutions to physician groups, hospitals and insurance providers.
