Aon acquires Farmington benefits provider

Global professional services firm Aon plc said it has acquired The Farmington Company, which provides voluntary benefits and enrollment services to approximately 700 employers around the country.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Farmington Company was founded in 1980 and has over 110 employees.

CEO Doug Mantz said the deal will create “new sources of value for clients.”

“Together we can strengthen and expand the client experience,” Mantz said.

Aon, which is publicly traded on the NYSE, has a total of 50,000 employees in 120 countries.
