New Haven-based architecture, art and advisory firm Svigals + Partners has announced new leadership in its interior design studio.
Katherine Berger is assuming the role of director of interior design.
A graduate of the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University in Boston, Berger’s portfolio includes work in the healthcare, education, biotech and corporate sectors.
Berger’s recent projects include corporate office spaces for Technolutions and Biohaven Pharmaceuticals, facilities for Central Connecticut State University, and a new simulation lab and classrooms for Yale School of Nursing.
Meanwhile, Lynn Brotman is retiring from her career as an interior designer next month.
After 17 years as head of Lynn Brotman Interior Design, Brotman merged her firm with Svigals + Partners in 2017, and joined the leadership as associate principal.

Brotman had collaborated with Svigals + Partners on a number of high-profile works prior to the merger, including the Sandy Hook School in Newtown. During her tenure at the firm, Brotman led projects such as the Yale Child Study Center and Yale-New Haven Hospital’s Strategic Business Office.

Patriot Bank names new president and CEO
Robert G. Russell, Jr. has been picked to serve as president and CEO of Patriot Bank.
Headquartered in Stamford, Patriot Bank has nine branches, including eight in Connecticut, in Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, Milford, Norwalk, Orange, Stamford and Westport. It also has express banking locations in Bridgeport, New Haven and Trumbull.
Russell, who has more than three decades of banking experience, joins Patriot from Millington Bank in New Jersey, where he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Michael Carrazza, chairman of Patriot, said of Russell’s selection,”His skillset and the community banking experience he brings will allow us to continue building our franchise and enhance the banking services and experiences for our clients.”
Patriot reported total assets of $999.6 million as of the first quarter of 2020.

IsoPlexis appoints Peter Siesel as chief commercial officer
IsoPlexis, a Branford-based health care company targeting diseases such as cancer, announced that Peter Siesel has joined the company as chief commercial officer.
Siesel will work to advance the company’s commercialization and market expansion efforts by leading global sales and customer support, as well as expansion into key regions for market growth.
Sean Mackay, co-founder and CEO, said the company is pleased to have Siesel join its executive team.
"Peter has proven leadership and played a critical role in developing and expanding commercial teams in the fast-paced world of the life sciences industry,” Mackay said in an announcement. “We are confident that he will bring extensive knowledge to the table and drive further global success in our rapidly growing commercial endeavors."
Siesel has more than a decade of leadership, operational and commercial experience in the life sciences industry. Most recently, he worked at Tecan, a global provider of automated workflow solutions in the life science and clinical diagnostics markets, as its senior vice president of sales.
