Auto glass repair company buys vacant Hartford industrial property for new location

COSTAR Payless Auto Glass will be opening a new location at 305 West Service Road, Hartford.

A vacant Hartford industrial property located in the North Meadows neighborhood has sold for $1.1 million and will be the new home of a local auto glass repair company, according to the broker involved in the deal.

John Wisniewski, owner of Payless Auto Glass, on Dec. 22 purchased the 7,000-square-foot industrial building on 2 acres at 305 West Service Road, according to Colliers International, which brokered the deal. The property, formerly home to a Whitey’s Repair and Auto Body shop, was vacant at the time of the sale.

According to its website, Payless Auto Glass has about a half-dozen locations throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Payless will be relocating its current Hartford location, at 521 Wethersfield Ave., to the newly acquired West Service Road property, according to Christian Dietz, a senior associate at Colliers who represented the buyer.

According to city records, the previous owner of the West Service Road property was CVE Hartford LLC, which purchased the property in March 2023 for $707,700. CVE Hartford LLC traces back to an Ohio-based private equity firm named Peppertree Capital Management Inc., state records show.

Nicholas Morizio, also of Colliers, represented the seller.
