Biohaven Pharmaceuticals’ board of directors recently elected CEO Vlad Coric to the role of board chairman, following the retirement of Declan Doogan.
Meanwhile, Matthew Buten will be the company’s new chief financial officer as of Dec. 20. He is replacing James Engelhart, who is retiring.
Buten is a former managing director of Foresite Capital with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare investing as well as 15 plus years as an advisor in investment banking.
“We are excited to welcome Matt to our executive leadership team as CFO as he brings deep expertise in healthcare investment banking, venture capital, corporate strategy and private equity to Biohaven,” Coric said.
Doogan and Engelhart will continue to advise the company after their retirements to ensure a smooth transition.
Also, current Director Michael Heffernan has been appointed lead independent director.
