A New Jersey-based bridge manufacturer is expanding operations into the Northeast by adding an office in Monroe, its first in the region.

Acrow Bridge builds steel bridges for permanent, temporary and emergency use. It engineers and supplies bridges for various uses, including for vehicles, trains, pedestrians and the military.

Acrow’s new office is at 887 Main Street, Suite 1D, in Monroe. It now has 13 locations, including offices around the United States, in Canada, South Africa and Italy.

According to the company’s website, Acrow has been involved in bridge infrastructure projects around the globe, including more than 80 countries across Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.

Acrow has had projects In the Northeast already, though company leaders hope to further expand its presence here. Acrow’s area projects have included the Cradock Bridge in Medford, Mass.; Oak Bluffs bridge in Martha’s Vineyard; Fore River Bridge in Quincy, Mass., and the North Hero-Grand Isle bridge in Vermont, for example.

The 60-year-old company indicated in an announcement its new Northeast office will provide “better service to the regional design and construction community.”

Acrow has appointed Nick Rotondo as its New England sales manager. Rotondo is working out of the Monroe office and leading the sales and rental of bridging and shoring products for all six New England states. In previous positions Rotondo served as a project consultant and in construction-related sales positions.

Rotondo said he is happy to be joining the Acrow team and to work on its sales efforts throughout New England. While Rotondo is currently the sole individual in the Monroe office, which opened this summer, he said they hope to expand and grow with additional staff.

The goal, according to Rotondo, is to get more projects throughout New England. He now reports to Eugene Sobecki, Acrow’s director of national sales and military business development.

“We are excited about the opening of our new office under Nick’s direction,” said Sobecki in a press release. “Nick comes to Acrow with more than 15 years of sales management experience in the civil construction industry, and we look forward to his contribution in helping grow and develop business in the region.”

Russ Parisi, Acrow’s vice president North America, said the company is looking to strengthen and grow its partnerships with government agencies and private-sector entities to provide bridge and transportation infrastructure needs.
