Growing label manufacturer Brook + Whittle, which has its headquarters in Guilford, recently leased an 18,764-square-foot industrial space at 218 Foxon Rd., East Haven.
Founded in 1995, the company makes pressure sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging and heat transfer labels commonly found on various food, beverage, home and personal care products, from a Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee to a bottle of Nivea body wash.
Brook + Whittle is the sole tenant at the Foxon Road site, which is now fully leased.
According to its website, the company has multiple locations around the country. In addition to Connecticut, it has operations in New York, Missouri, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, California and Ohio.
Terms of the East Haven lease were not disclosed, though realtors involved in the deal described it as “long-term.”
Frank Hird and Adam Gregg of O,R&L Commercial LLC represented the landlord, MCM Development.
In January, Brook + Whittle extended its lease for its Guilford headquarters, at 20 Carter Dr.
In late September, Brook + Whittle announced its membership in a global recycling initiative and consortium, CELAB (Circular Economy for Labels). It is a coalition of companies involved in the labeling industry and focused on sustainability.
Tyler Matusevich, the company’s director of sustainability, said it wants to both increase sustainability and reduce waste.
“We believe that collaboration is key in building a circular economy in labels and packaging,” Matusevich said. “I am excited by Brook + Whittle’s commitment to and passion for helping brands achieve their sustainability goals. Through CELAB, we will work to create a more vibrant future.”
