CarePartners, a health insurance company jointly created by Hartford HealthCare and Tufts Health Plan, has named a veteran healthcare executive with experience at ConnectiCare and Aetna as its new president.
Rocky Hill-based CarePartners of Connecticut says it's appointed Marla Pantano as president to oversee the health plan's growth, performance, marketing, sales, provider network and medical cost management. Pantano mostly recently served as senior vice president of clinical analytics and operations at Agilon Health Inc.
Pantano began leading the organization in August, succeeding acting president Patty Blake, officials said.
Pantano's career spans more than three decades on both the payer and the provider side of health care, including in analytics, actuarial, population health, product development, provider contracting and performance management.
Prior to joining Agilon Health, Pantano served several years as vice president and chief actuary of Ascension and vice president of medical analytics at ConnectiCare. She also spent seven years in a number of different roles with Hartford health insurer Aetna, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Pantano, a Portland resident, earned a bachelor's degree in math and economics from the College of William & Mary. She is also a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the Academy of Actuaries.
