A popular shoreline restaurant is among five recipients to benefit from Citizens Bank’s Small Business Recovery grant program.
The bank announced Thursday that five small Connecticut businesses will each receive a $15,000 grant. According to the bank, the grants are aimed at helping small business customers recover from adverse business conditions resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
The recipients include:
Jack Murphy, president, business banking with Citizens Bank, said in an announcement, “These grants will go directly to Connecticut small businesses, providing them with much-needed cash flow and support to help them stabilize amidst the devastating impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.”
Headquartered in Providence, R.I., Citizens Financial Group earlier this month announced that it was making a $5 million commitment to help communities, including $4.2 million in support of small businesses in the bank’s service area. The bank plans to award 134 direct grants to small businesses.
“Small businesses are the heartbeat of the American economy, and we are committed to providing them with a vital jolt as they battle the economic implications of the pandemic,” Murphy said.
