The City of New Haven’s Municipal Tax Relief Deferral Program remains open to New Haven property owners suffering COVID-19 hardship.

Taxpayers may pay their property taxes up to three months late without penalty this coming fiscal year, which starts July 1 and extends until June 30, 2021. But to qualify they must apply by June 30.

The program is available to owners of commercial and residential real estate located in the city. It is also applicable to New Haven residents for motor vehicle and personal-property taxes, as well as municipal electric, water and sewer, or C-PACE Benefit Assessment charges due between April 1 and July 1 of this year.

Business and/or non-profit applicants must certify that they anticipate revenues to decrease by at least 30% during the three-month period.

Property-owners with questions may phone 203-887-1060, e-mail TaxDeferral@newhavenct.gov, or visit the New Haven Tax Deferral Program link HERE.
