Comcast has promoted one of its longtime executives to head its western New England territory.

The cable-TV, voice- and data-services vendor announced Monday that Dennis Mathew has replaced Michael Parker as senior vice president of the company’s western New England region, which is based in Berlin.

Comcast says Mathew is tasked with overseeing its sales, marketing, operations, financial performance and customer experience in the area. Its western New England division employs more than 1,600 people and serves 300 municipalities in Connecticut, western Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and western New Hampshire.

Mathew most recently served as vice president and general manager of Xfinity Home at Comcast’s headquarters in Philadelphia. He previously held management roles on the Xfinity Internet product team, in addition to other roles since joining the company in 2015.

The Avon resident is currently a board member of Bombay Teen Challenge, an India-based nonprofit aimed at preventing human trafficking in the country.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, finance and management information systems from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, according to his LinkedIn profile.
