Engineering firm Fuss & O’Neill relocated its Trumbull office to New Haven this week, citing the need for more space and to be closer to its local projects.
The firm’s new office is at 59 Elm St., Suite 500, in an office building a block from the Green. Workers moved there as of June 20.
According to the company, the move will expand its employee base and service offerings in the New Haven and Shoreline region. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
Regional Manager Craig Lapinski said he sees great potential in the relocation, noting the growth in New Haven.
“Working in the heart of downtown, historic New Haven brings us closer to many of our clients and large projects in shoreline Connecticut,” Lapinski said, in an announcement. “This proximity increases our ability to respond, and we can be on site at a moment’s notice.”
The firm, which was established in 1924, is currently working on several projects in New Haven, including at Science Park, the Downtown Crossing project, West River green infrastructure design and a watershed and stormwater quality plan related to the Quinnipiac River. It is also involved in a coastal flood resilience project in Milford.
The company has more than 330 employees. Its headquarters is in Manchester and it also has offices in California, Rhode Island, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire.
In New Haven, the firm’s staff is focused on services related to compliance, remediation, hazardous building materials, structural engineering, redevelopment, site/civil engineering, water and natural resources, and traffic/transportation.
