Florida telecom company buys Coventry property for $3.2M

Google 138 Main St., Coventry

A 23.7-acre Coventry property hosting a nearly 10,000-square-foot warehouse, small office building and cellular telecommunications tower recently sold for $3.2 million.

Pelle LLC, controlled by Richard C. Pelletier, of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, sold 120 Main St., 138 Main St. and three neighboring properties in Coventry to CV Equity I LLC, which shares a Lakewood Ranch, Florida address with telecommunications company Tarpon Towers. The sale was recorded by the town on April 6.

On its website, Tarpon describes itself as “a leader in the development, acquisition and management of wireless communication sites.” The company leases space on these towers to wireless communication companies. Its website lists 2,391 towers across North America, including dozens in Connecticut.

The properties currently host a 9,938-square-foot office and warehouse building of masonry and metal with 16-foot wall heights, as well as a separate 3,640-square-foot, pre-finished metal warehouse with 10-foot wall heights. Both were built in 1988. The site depends on a septic system and well for sewage and water.

The site used to house a contractor’s workshop. Today, a portion is used as a school bus depot. Doug Rose of the Scalzo Group represented the buyer. Ron Lyman of Lyman Real Estate, Brokerage and Development represented the seller.
