GoNetSpeed announced Wednesday that residents and businesses in Seymour will soon have access to its high-speed fiber internet.
A privately-funded investment of $4.4 million in the town will allow more than 6,000 Seymour locations to take advantage of GoNetSpeed’s services.
These locations will have access to the services as early as this summer, with construction beginning this spring.
Tom Perrone, senior vice president of network operations and general manager of Connecticut, said, “As we’ve seen in recent years, there has been a growing need for reliable, fast internet that can support modern homes, businesses, and our everyday activities online.”
The company expanded throughout the New Haven area last year, including the towns of Branford, Waterbury, Cheshire, Naugatuck and Wolcott in October, serving over 50,000 homes and businesses in the region.
In March, the telecommunications company also used a privately-funded $4.5 million investment to expand throughout Clinton and Westbrook.
Access to GoNetSpeed’s 100% fiber internet allows customers to have strong download and upload speeds, ranging from 500 mbps to 1 gbps (1,000 mbps), according to the company. Its services are already available in over 30 communities across the state, and it continues to expand.
