Hamden health consulting firm merges with Alabama business

Simione Healthcare Consultants LLC of Hamden is combining with an Alabama health care company. 

Its new partner, Home Health Solutions, LLC of Alabama, helps home health and hospice organizations improve and provides coding and OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) review services. OASIS is a tool for planning patient care and measuring quality.

Under the agreement, Simione will be the majority owner. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Simione, which was founded in 1966, provides business solutions for care providers, such as in the areas of finance, clinical operations, sales, data analytics, talent acquisition and more.

The companies expect the merger will allow both to expand their services. 

Managing Principal William J. Simione III said both companies want to grow. 

Simione is eager to enter the coding and OASIS review business, he said, while HHS wanted a partner to expand its coding services and strengthen its advisory capacity.

"We believe our respective teams need to evolve, focus and move further ahead to guide an industry that is at a critical stage of development for our nation's health," Simione said in an announcement. "Together, we can achieve more, responding strategically to providers of every size and scope who face both common and unique market factors that challenge their viability."

J'non Griffin, Home Health Solutions’ founder and president, said working together will help both companies get “to the next level of performance,” by expanding knowledge and capabilities across teams.

“The focus and plan are right for both organizations, and will help Simione and Home Health Solutions grow stronger together," she said.
