Hartford announces plan for July 4 weekend basketball tournament

The city’s July 4 weekend celebration, Hartford Bonanza, will kick off Saturday with Hoop It Up, a three-on-three basketball tournament from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Allyn Street.

Hartford Bonanza is a two-day celebration of “vitality and collective culture, complete with sports, performances and great food,” according to an announcement from Bronin’s office.

On Sunday, Bonanza Jam will be held at Bushnell Park from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. 
 
Mayor Luke Bronin’s plan to announce details about the celebration at 11 a.m. Monday was postponed.
