Trinity Health of New England has teamed with the Hartford Athletic as its first-ever title partner to serve as the pro soccer club’s healthcare provider and jersey sponsor.

Team owners of Hartford Sports Group (HSG) on Wednesday afternoon unveiled the team’s Adidas home and road jerseys donning the Trinity Health emblem during a press gathering at the health system’s flagship Connecticut facility, St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford.

Michigan-based Trinity Health is now the soccer club’s first founding partner, as additional sponsors are expected to be named in the weeks ahead.

Under the multiyear partnership, Trinity Health physicians and orthopedic and sports medicine experts will provide medical care to the team’s players, which includes both local and international players.

The team is also collaborating with the health system on a number of community initiatives, outreach and educational events aimed at improving the Capital City, state and region.

The Athletic, the newest member of the expanded Division II United Soccer League (USL), will begin its inaugural season on the road in March. Its home opener at soon-to-be renovated Dillon Stadium is set for Saturday, May 4.

Also Wednesday, the team announced it’s hosting a “watch party” for the Athletic’s first-ever match on Saturday, March 9 at Thomas Hooker Brewery at Colt, 140 Huyshope Ave. at 7 p.m.

The team has been busy in recent months unveiling its 34-game schedule, season ticket packages, merchandise sales, a new blue and green logo and a promotional campaign showcasing players, fans and coaches.
