Hartford insurance-services software vendor Insurity Inc. has acquired SpatialKey Inc., a Michigan-based company that uses advanced geographical and other analytics to advise property and casualty insurance companies on risk.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Insurity said the acquisition, in addition to its 2017 purchase of Valen Analytics, will enable it to offer a wider slate of geospatial analytics, data enrichment, and risk intelligence services to property and casualty insurers.
“SpatialKey’s solutions are an exceptional complement to the Insurity portfolio,” said Insurity CEO Chris Lafond. “Data and analytics is a key focal point in our strategy of delivering differentiated and high-value products to our clients.”
Insurity made the purchase less than six months after Silicon Valley investor GI Partners LLC bought the company. Lafond was promoted from his former position of chief financial officer at the end of August, when he replaced former Insurity CEO Chris Giglio, who remains on the company’s board of directors.
