Launc[H]artford is partnering with a healthcare technology accelerator to bring five startups to Hartford to evolve and grow their businesses.

Launc[H]artford, a business and entrepreneur support group, is partnering with Plug and Play Health on the venture. Plug and Play Health is based in Silicon Valley but has a presence in 35-plus locations across five continents, it said, offering accelerator and innovation programs.

They have selected five startups — Bloomlife, CareAdvisors, Stamford-based NourishedRx, Sonavi Labs and Viora Health — to participate in the so-called Plug and Play Health Batch 14 accelerator program.

The companies all offer different ways of improving health equity by addressing social determinants of health, expanding access to health care, and bridging the digital divide. Only one (NourishedRx) is based in Connecticut, but they will come to Hartford to take part in the program. They will also work with local organizations like Hartford HealthCare and Trinity College, which will provide mentorship, corporate connections, workshops and collaborative office hours.

Twelve other startups from across the globe will also participate in the program, but they will not be coming to Hartford, officials said.

According to the organizations, the Plug and Play Health Batch 14 program aims to discover new digital services in the healthcare industry that can improve the delivery of care and patient experience while also enhancing the business ecosystem for health startups.
