Horizon stakes $8M in TX software-services firm

Farmington’s Horizon Technology Finance Corp. has staked an $8 million venture loan in a Texas all-in-one marketing software-services vendor.

OutboundEngine Inc., of Austin, Texas, offers more than 10,000 online small-business subscribers pre-packaged email, social-media and other web-based marketing-contact services for $199 to $449 per month, said CEO Marc Pickren.

Horizon Tech’s loan will enable OutboundEngine to develop and expand its online offerings and customer base, Pickren said.

OutboundEngine's largest investors include Silverton Partners, S3 Ventures, Noro-Moseley Partners, Harmony Partners, and Floodgate Fund.
