In DEEP waters: Where the shellfish are

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has made available a new interactive map that shows where the crayfish are in Connecticut.

The crayfish atlas, available on the DEEP website, contains a map for each of the nine crayfish species in Connecticut, an overview of crayfish anatomy, key identification characteristics and detailed photographs. View the atlas here.

The observations are gathered and continually updated through the department’s fisheries and water quality monitoring programs, DEEP said.
