The Junkluggers, an eco-friendly junk-removal business, announced recently it is teaming up with Contractor Nation with the goal of boosting its sales and marketing opportunities.

Under the new deal, Contractor Nation will become a minority equity partner in Junkluggers, according to the announcement. Contractor Nation is a Seymour-based network of home services and home-improvement contractors. Junkluggers hopes to benefit from those contractor contacts to get more opportunities and  increase revenue. It also expects improved access to training and professional development programs through the partnership.

Junkluggers founder and CEO Josh Cohen said he believes the collaboration will “accelerate the growth” of his company.

"Contractor Nation is dedicated to helping home-improvement contractors grow and thrive, and we see great synergy between their mission and our growing franchise system," Cohen said in the announcement.

Junkluggers has recently relocated its offices from Stamford to a private building on Contractor Nation’s campus in Seymour. The move will allow both to work together more closely. Junkluggers of Fairfield and Westchester will remain in Stamford.

Larry Janesky, founder and CEO of Contractor Nation, said Cohen has “already built a great company” and he hopes this move will bring it “greater success.”

"Working with Contractor Nation and the companies in our network creates an excellent opportunity for The Junkluggers to grow," Janesky said.

He said they will apply all of their resources to take Junkluggers “to new heights.”

Junkluggers launched in 2004 and has 21 existing franchisees around North America, and it hopes to continue growing. It aims to disrupt the junk removal industry with sustainable practices, with a goal of eliminating all waste from landfills by the year 2025, according to its website. The company strives to recycle and repurpose everything it picks up.

Contractor Nation has been in business since 1990, and it works to help home improvement companies through training, technology and business support services.
