Liberty Bank, which is headquartered in Middletown, has finalized a lease of office space at 59 Elm St., New Haven.
The space includes 2,500 square feet on the top floor of the five-story building. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
Evan C. O’Brien, senior director with Cushman & Wakefield, represented the bank in the deal, while Daniel Seligsohn of DSel Properties and Robert Motley of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord.
According to O’Brien, the location was picked following an “exhaustive” search that included several downtown New Haven properties. O’Brien said the Elm Street location appealed to his client because of its modern design, which includes a lot of glass and an open concept.
The bank’s new Elm Street office space is part of its plan to grow its footprint in New Haven county.
“Greater New Haven is a vibrant and dynamic marketplace and an important market for us as we expand our commercial banking presence in Connecticut,” said Jeff Hubbard, senior vice president and regional commercial bank manager, via email. “Liberty Bank is well-capitalized. We have a talented and experienced team of bankers who stand ready to serve our customers’ commercial banking needs. And we are well-positioned to not only be a ‘bank of choice’ for businesses in the Greater New Haven market but also remain a dedicated community partner here.”
The space formerly housed the Susman, Duffy & Segaloff law firm, which moved to State Street.
