McGee named new president and CEO of Everyday Democracy

Hartford nonprofit Everyday Democracy has named Merle McGee as its president and chief executive officer effective May 23.

McGee brings nearly 25 years of experience in nonprofit settings, including significant executive leadership experience. Most recently, she served as chief equity and engagement officer for Planned Parenthood of Greater New York.

Prior to her work at Planned Parenthood, Merle served as chief program officer at YWCA of the city of New York.
Outgoing President and CEO Martha McCoy plans to transition out of the organization effective May 27, after over 27 years of leadership there.
