Connecticut Gastroenterology Consultants is opening a new location in Old Saybrook this week.
The medical group, which also goes by CT Gastro, will begin seeing patients on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at its new location in a medical office building at 1250 Boston Post Road, across from Old Saybrook High School.
The practice already has three other offices, including at 40 Temple St. in New Haven, 800 Boston Post Road in Guilford, and 9 Washington Ave. in Hamden.
CT Gastro President & CEO Sidney Bogardus, MD, said in an announcement the new facility will allow the practice to better serve patients along the shoreline “by bringing their care closer to home.”
The objective, according to Bogardus, is to provide the same care and medical services to patients in the Old Saybrook area without them having to travel as far as previously.
CT Gastro’s physicians specialize in gastrointestinal maladies. CT Gastro is an independent group of physicians who have privileges with the Yale New Haven Health system. The practice includes 14 medical doctors, two physician assistants and one advanced practice registered nurse.
CT Gastro physicians provide care, including diagnosis and treatment, in a range of conditions involving the digestive system. These include problems involving the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, pancreas, liver and bile ducts. They treat patients with an array of digestive system disorders, such as reflux, ulcers, colitis, polyps, cancer, hepatitis and cirrhosis.
Patients will also have access to various diagnostic procedures at the new location, including colonoscopy, endoscopy and biopsies.
The building at 1250 Boston Post Road is already a medical facility. Family Medicine Associates is located in a portion of the building, and CT Gastro will be toward the rear of the building.
The new Old Saybrook office will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
