A new 299-unit apartment complex in the Wooster Square neighborhood of New Haven is slated to open to its first residents in November.

The community, Olive & Wooster, started pre-leasing space in July.

Construction on the complex, which will also feature ground floor retail space, started in early 2019. It gets its name from its location, at the intersection of Olive and Wooster streets, and it is being offered by Adam America Real Estate, real estate developer Epimoni and B.HOM Management.

The companies are hoping to attract tenants due to the complex’s proximity to major employers such as Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale University, in addition to downtown New Haven’s retail and cultural offerings.

Jonathan Jeans, vice president of operations with B.HOM Management, called it an “exciting project,” with unique floor plans and features.

“(Olive & Wooster) offers a new housing option for a wide-range of prospective renters who are looking for modern living in a walkable neighborhood,” Jeans said.

The development features various floor plans, including studio apartments, and units with one, two, three, and four bedrooms.

Renters may also choose a collective living option, by renting an individual bedroom and bathroom within a shared living unit. These units have shared living, kitchen and dining spaces. Renters also have the option of choosing fully furnished spaces.

The complex features a fitness center with a yoga studio, a coworking space, clubroom with a communal bar and lounge areas, private event rooms, pool deck, outdoor cook stations and grills, and outdoor recreational areas.

Units in the complex will be available in phases, with the first ones available in November, followed by another batch in January, then the full complex ready for occupancy in April.

No planned tenants for the retail space in the complex have been announced yet.

Kelly Kutach, senior director of corporate brand and communications for BH Management Services, said this week the retail space in the development is available for pre-leasing also.

“We do not have confirmation of (retail) tenants at this time,” Kutach said, via email.
