A 500-unit downtown New Haven high-rise has been sold to a New York-based real estate investment firm for $160 million.
Built in 2010, the 32-story residential portion of the building at 360 State St. contains 500 apartment units and sits on the corner of Chapel Street in downtown New Haven.
According to city land records, MEPT Chapel Street LLC, or Multi-Employer Property Trust, sold the building Nov. 7 to New York-based Ansonia State Street LLC, an affiliate of Beachwold Residential LLC and principal Gideon Z. Friedman.
The residential property has an appraised value of just over $103 million, and the building also contains a parking garage with 500 spaces and retail shops, including Elm City Market grocery store.
Apartment units average about 675 square feet. The building has numerous amenities, including bicycle storage, a business center, clubhouse, car charging stations, fitness center, game room, pool, roof-top terrace, sundeck, multi-media areas and on-site maintenance.
