Milford-based sandwich chain Subway is collaborating with GenZ EV Solutions to bring electric vehicle charging stations to select locations across the U.S.
These charging parks, which the company is calling “Subway Oasis,” will provide charging canopies with multiple ports for electric vehicles, picnic tables, restrooms, Wi-Fi access and playgrounds.
"Our partnership with GenZ EV Solutions is a win for our guests, our franchisees and our planet, creating a dedicated space for drivers to charge their vehicle while enjoying their favorite Subway sandwich,” said Mike Kappitt, chief operating and insights officer of Subway.
Smaller scale fast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be available at select locations of new or newly remodeled locations in 2023 as part of a multi-year plan to roll out Subway Oasis.
GenZ EV Solutions, which is based in Miami, provides electric vehicle charging stations, and is working with EV charging network RED E Charging.
Jose Valls, CEO of GenZ EV Solutions, said, "By coupling our technology and know-how with Red E Charging's strategic site selection and Subway's network of restaurants across the U.S., we are continuing to make key strides in building the EV infrastructure of tomorrow."
Subway is working to identify franchisee sites to install both the smaller charging stations as well as Subway Oasis parks.
