A Newington industrial complex that housed plumbing parts maker Keeney Manufacturing for nearly a century has been sold to a limited liability company based in Brooklyn.

Omni Broussard Two LLC paid $3.1 million for Keeney’s 109,208-square-foot complex of three buildings on 6.8 acres at 1170 Main St. The sale was logged Dec. 16.

The seller was 2023 Holdings, the name Keeney took after it sold many of its assets to Cleveland-based plumbing manufacturer Oatey in late 2019.

Oatey acquired some Keeney assets and took on the company’s Newington employees as part of the sale, but the Newington manufacturing building was not part of the deal, according to Oatey spokeswoman Amanda Keiber.

Keiber said Oatey never operated out of the Newington facilities. She was unable to say how many of the former Keeny employees remained employed by Oatey following the sale.

The complex has been vacant since the sale, according to Newington Town Manager Keith Chapman. He said the town has met with the buyers several times.

“The future occupancy will play an important part of Newington Center’s future, and we anticipate the town will be working closely with the new owners, assisting them however we can to gain full occupancy as quickly as possible,” Chapman said.
