NHMR taps Starno for Community Service Award

Judi Starno of the Pearce Wallingford regional office of Pearce Real Estate has received the 2019 Community Service Award from the New Haven Middlesex Realtors (NHMR). Starno’s charitable works include serving as treasurer, scholarship donations and gala co-chair for the Catholic Charity League, spearheading efforts for the Amazon Smile Program and Ronald McDonald House, volunteering for the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce Read Aloud Program, Pearce Real Estate Day of Caring and Thanksgiving Baskets, the NHMR Scholarship Committee, Awards Committee and PTA Treasurer for Shepard Glen and Ridge Road Schools.

“Judi has always been a wonderful asset to her community and to Pearce over many, many years. We are all so proud of her being recognized by her peers for all her caring efforts in the community,” said Pearce Chair and CEO Barbara L. Pearce.

Robert (Bob) Bradley of Clinton has joined William Raveis Mortgage, a division of William Raveis, Real Estate, Mortgage & Insurance, in the company’s Niantic, Old Saybrook, Mystic and Norwich offices. Before he entered the mortgage business in 1998, Bradley held senior financial positions with United Technologies Corp. and Northrup Grumman Corp. He has been active with both the Clinton and Old Saybrook chambers of commerce, including serving the latter as president of its board of directors.

136 Sherman Ave., New Haven

A medical office building at 136 Sherman Avenue, New Haven has been acquired by Barone Investments LLC, whose principal is Biagio C. Barone of 88 Ryders Landing, Stratford. The purchase price was $2.7 million. The seller was Sherman Medical Building Owners Corp. The transaction closed Oct. 15.
