Quinnipiac appoints new dean of the School of Nursing

Certified nurse educator Larry Z. Slater has been appointed dean of the School of Nursing at Quinnipiac University.

Slater will begin his new role June 26. He will replace Lisa O’Connor, who plans to return to the faculty next spring after serving as nursing school dean since 2018.

Slater will oversee the nursing school’s undergraduate and graduate programs. He will work closely with faculty, staff and students to advance the school's research and scholarship initiatives. He will also serve as a tenured professor of nursing.

Slater is joining Quinnipiac from the University of Memphis, Loewenberg College of Nursing, where he serves as associate dean for academic programs and clinical professor. He also served as interim dean there from 2021-22. Slater is a certified nurse educator through the National League for Nursing and a board-certified registered gerontological nurse through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Union Savings Bank picks new board member

Jennifer Ingram has been elected to the Danbury-based Union Savings Bank’s Board of Trustees.

Ingram is head of marketing planning and acquisition at the Stamford-based Charter Communications. 

Lucie H. Voves, board chair, said of Ingram’s selection, “Jennifer’s expertise in strategic marketing and proven success with customer acquisition and retention programs for both regional and national organizations make her an excellent choice.”

Ingram, a Fairfield resident, has a 30-year background in strategic marketing and new business development.
