Quinnipiac University will be offering discounted tuition to North Haven and Hamden town employees and their families.
Under a three-year agreement, Quinnipiac will offer the towns’ employees, their spouses and any dependents under the age of 25 a 10% discount on tuition for online undergraduate and graduate programs.
Quinnipiac’s Vice President of Strategy and Community Relations Bethany Zemba said, “This tuition discount program idea came to us through leadership at the Hamden Police Department, who were looking to advance educational opportunities for their officers.”
“When we investigated the idea, we thought, ‘Why not expand access to include all town employees in our two sister towns – Hamden and North Haven?’ We are so pleased to be able to provide an incentive for town employees to join the QU learning community,” she said.
Dependents can also qualify for a 30% tuition discount for full-time, on-campus undergraduate degree programs.
Admitted employees’ dependents will also receive a 10% discount on summer programs at Quinnipiac for high school students.
Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett said of the tuition assistance program, “Providing our employees with this opportunity will strengthen our workforce and improve our ability to serve our residents.”
