Shelton theater names new managing director

Center Stage Theatre has appointed Shelton native and resident Carla Supersano Sullivan as its new managing director.

The Shelton venue provides theatrical performances, educational programming and volunteer opportunities.

In her new role, Sullivan will oversee and manage the organization, including strategic planning, fundraising, operations, fiscal management and marketing.  She will report to the organization’s board of directors.

John Corraro, board chairman, said Sullivan’s background, which includes working in theater and for nonprofit organizations, “gave her the perfect, well-rounded experience we were looking for to steer Center Stage into 2022 and beyond.” 

Sullivan has served as vice president of external relations for the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, managing all outward facing operations during the pandemic. Previously, she was its director of development, and worked to grow its donor base and grant revenue. She also was involved in creating signature fundraising events.

“I am honored and humbled to serve Center Stage as its first managing director.  It is the ideal match for my professional experience and my love and passion for theater and arts education,” Sullivan said.

Two join New Haven office of Pearce Real Estate

Pearce Real Estate recently added two new staffers to its New Haven office.

Mary E. Berrios of Hamden has more than 27 years of experience with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families as an office assistant, eligibility worker and social worker.

“Mary brings great people skills to her new position and working in real estate is really about working with people. Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a real asset for her also. We wish Mary a very successful and long career with Pearce,” said Barbara Pearce, chair and CEO.

Aneesah Langley

Aneesah Langley, also of Hamden, has prior sales and retail experience.
“Aneesah has so much potential as a real estate agent,” Pearce said. “She is new to the business and that allows us to train her in the right way to do things from the start. We look forward to her having a productive career with Pearce in the years to come.”

Branford company names new board member

IsoPlexis, a Branford-based life science technology company focused on proteomics, recently appointed Dr. Jason Myers to serve on its board of directors.

Myers has experience in genomics, product development, and business leadership, and is currently the CEO of GenapSys. Myers is a biochemist and biotechnology innovator, according to IsoPlexis.

“We are excited to add Dr. Myers to our board of directors,’ said Sean Mackay, CEO and co-founder of IsoPlexis. “Dr. Myers’ combined scientific expertise and focus on product development and commercialization will be invaluable to IsoPlexis as we expand our capabilities.”

Law firm names five new attorneys 

Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey recently added five new attorneys to the firm.

Jasmine Cooper-Little joins the firm as an associate in the litigation practice based in the New Haven office. 

Anthony El-Hashem is a new associate in the firm’s immigration practice, also based in New Haven. El-Hashem previously served as attorney advisor at the Miami Immigration Court through the Attorney General’s Honors Program and practiced as a trial attorney with the Civil Division’s Office of Immigration Litigation. 

Mark S. Fanelli III joined the firm as an associate in the corporate and business services practice, based in the firm’s Stamford office. 
 
Max D. Matt is a new associate in the real estate practice, based in Stamford. 

Margaret E. Smith joined the firm as an associate in the corporate and business services  practice based in Waterbury.
