Stanley+Techstars accelerator welcomes 10 new global startups focused on AI

Stanley+Techstars Accelerator, a downtown Hartford startup accelerator focused on additive manufacturing, announced its 2021 cohort of 10 global startups, all of which are focused on artificial intelligence in additive manufacturing.

The program, which will take place virtually this year, is sponsored by New Britain toolmaker Stanley Black & Decker, which hosts the accelerator at its 23,000-square-foot Manufactory 4.0 facility at One Constitution Plaza in Hartford's downtown. Colorado-based Techstars has managed the program since it began in 2018.

"After successfully accelerating additive manufacturing and sustainable packaging startups in prior years, this year’s class is focused on solutions for artificial intelligence (AI) in advanced manufacturing," Stanley's announcement said. "We’ll work with two robotics companies, four software companies and four companies developing solutions by way of  digital and hardware components."

Participants will develop their products in Hartford between now and April, when they will hold a demo day for investors, which may be held in a digital format. 

Companies in Stanley+Techstars' 2021 cohort include:
 

  • EMS Forest, a Colorado company that uses AI to connect manufacturers and suppliers.
  • I-flow, a German company that makes a non-coding data management platform.
  • ProductionAR, a Canadian company that makes augmented reality products for businesses.
  • Sensai, a Massachusetts-based company that makes an AI platform for manufacturing companies.
  • Eduro.ai, which makes a platform that helps manufacturing companies track things like  inventory and order management.
  • MODICA Microindustries, a software platform for factories and warehouses that uses AI.
  • Slytek, which makes a hardware system to monitor the manufacturing process.
  • Hiloslab, which uses additive manufacturing to make footwear.
  • Malamute, which makes an AI-enabled device noise-canceling earpiece.
  • Peer Robotics, an India-based company that develops AI solutions for the manufacturing and warehouse industries.

We are excited to see this new set of energetic and talented entrepreneurs coming (virtually at first) to Hartford to accelerate artificial intelligence in manufacturing!

Great to see! This is an amazing initiative by Stanley Black & Decker. It may be worth mentioning that the photo in this article was from a prior cohort and was taken pre-covid
