A Plymouth, Mass.-based trampoline park is proposing a new location at the Charter Oak Mall shopping plaza in East Hartford.

Nova Trampoline is proposing the facility, called Nova Adventure Park East Hartford, in a former Stop & Shop space at 940 Silver Lane. It would be Nova’s second location.

The company plans to construct a new state-of-the-art playground with trampolines, a ropes course, soccer, dodgeball, basketball and a foam pit in the 68,000-square-foot space.

Nova has submitted an application for a special permit to the Planning and Zoning Commission, which is set to meet Wednesday night, seeking permission for a recreational use.

The Charter Oak Mall is a 225,439-square-foot shopping center located along Silver Lane near the center of East Hartford.

The Silver Lane corridor has been targeted for economic revitalization, and a mixed-use development is being constructed on a 22-acre site known as Silver Lane Plaza.

The plaza at 940 Silver Lane is owned by Charter Oak Realty Holdings LLC. Stop & Shop closed in December 2021 and the space has been empty since.
