Uber unveils new package delivery service in Connecticut

Connecticut residents will now be able to use Uber Connect to ship packages the same day to individuals in their area through the Uber app.

The San Francisco-based rideshare/tech giant made the announcement Friday.

“There are no grinches here — Uber is taking the stress and guesswork out of local shipping this holiday season,” Uber Connect Product Lead Akansha Kumar said in a statement. “Uber Connect allows you to push a button and send a package to your loved ones across town with real-time tracking, so you’ll always know when it gets delivered.”

Uber Connect, which is now available in more than 6,000 communities across the country, also announced several new features.

Those features include a “Meet at door” pickup and dropoff option. That option allows the user to meet the delivery driver at their door, as opposed to meeting them curbside.
