Window manufacturer Marvin’s relocation to Windsor satisfies need for ‘significantly more space’

Window-and-door manufacturer Marvin will be relocating from Enfield after signing a long-term lease to occupy a 185,600-square-foot logistics center under construction in Windsor, the company confirmed.

Hartford Business Journal previously reported on the lease in April, but the Minnesota-based company has provided more information about its plans.

Marvin, which employs more than 7,000 people nationally, currently operates a distribution center in Enfield, but will relocate to a logistics building at 205 Baker Hollow Road, in Windsor, later this year. 

The distribution center will serve Marvin’s Northeast area dealer partners, and the move is being spurred by a need for “additional space to meet current and anticipated demand,” the company said. 

“This distribution center will serve Marvin’s dealers throughout the eastern U.S., providing significantly more space and allowing for consolidated delivery to Marvin partners from Marvin’s manufacturing facilities throughout the country,” the company said.

All of Marvin’s current Enfield-based employees have been invited to transition to Windsor, and the company will look to fill additional roles later this year. The company said it plans to employ up to 40 people in Windsor. 

Braintree, Massachusetts-based Condyne Capital Partners LLC is the developer behind the logistics building at 205 Baker Hollow Road.

The building is part of a larger Condyne Logistics center campus in Windsor. Located close to Interstate 91, the concrete building will feature 32-foot wall heights, 36 dock doors, one drive-in door and 45 trailer parking spaces, according to Condyne.

It is scheduled to be completed this fall.
