Avon green fund acquires N.C. solar firm

An Avon-based fund focused on renewable and clean technology deals has acquired a North Carolina development firm focused on utility-scale solar projects in several states.

Clean Feet Investors II, the second fund launched and overseen by Bernard Zahren's Zahren Financial Co., announced that it has acquired Solar Green Development LLC for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Charlotte, Solar Green is focused on its home state, as well as Pennsylvania and Virginia.

The second Clean Feet fund announced in December that it had acquired a Maryland solar developer, SynerGen. That followed a September disclosure by the fund that it had raised $5.6 million from 33 private investors.
