Genevive Walker has been picked to serve as the new president and CEO of the Connecticut Center for Arts and Technology, or ConnCAT.
Walker, who joined the organization in 2012 and is currently chief of operations, will replace Erik Clemons in the position. ConnCAT’s mission is to prepare youth and adults for educational and career advancement. It provides an array of programs, such as after-school arts and job training.
Clemons, meanwhile, will serve as executive board chair of ConnCORP, which stands for Connecticut Community Outreach Revitalization Program. ConnCORP is the community economic development corporation of ConnCAT, and it works to drive economic development in New Haven. It acquires and revitalizes commercial properties and invests in community-based businesses.
The appointments are effective March 1.
Clemons called Walker a “dedicated leader,” and said he expects great things as she takes on her new role.
“I’m not going anywhere, and in fact, with a partner in leadership like Genevive, I know we’re poised to have an awe-inspiring decade ahead,” he added.
