CoreChain partners with Fla. software company

CoreChain is based at District, a New Haven co-working space.

CoreChain Technologies, a digital B2B payments network built on blockchain, has partnered with Scanco Software of Florida.

CoreChain, which is based at District in New Haven, launched in September 2020. In a time when many businesses are still paying bills with paper checks, CoreChain aims to streamline and modernize B2B payments and reduce fraud risk. Its blockchain database technology creates a network of buyers and suppliers for moving funds, so all parties can see a transaction’s status in real time.

Scanco, launched in 1989, provides mobile warehouse and manufacturing automation products and services.

The partnership and companies’ combined technologies is expected to make blockchain-powered payments and financing available to warehousing and manufacturing industries, according to an announcement.

The companies plan to work together to integrate CoreChain’s payments network with Scanco’s software products. Their co-developed products will include an enhanced version of Scanco Purchase Agent, allowing Scanco’s customers to streamline payments. Scanco Purchase Agent is used for analyzing orders and supplies, for example.

Andrew Nunez, CEO of Scanco, said the partnership is important to Scanco’s continued expansion.

“Scanco Purchase Agent will empower our customers to tightly align procurement with payments and financing functions, enabling the entire enterprise to work more efficiently and securely,” Nunez said.

An enhanced Scanco Purchase Agent product is expected to be available in early 2022.

Since its launch, CoreChain has processed over $500 million in B2B payments.

Chris Aguas, founder and CEO of CoreChain, has said its customers range from software companies to universities to government entities.

This summer, CoreChain Technologies raised $1.25 million in pre-seed funding, money which the company indicated it would use to expand its payments and financing network, staffing and customer base.
