The New Haven Regional Bioscience Collaborative has announced that applications are now available for summer 2023 internships at more than 20 participating bioscience companies across the state.

The Student Program to Ready Interns for Next Generation Talent, or SPRINT, is open to students attending Connecticut colleges and universities, as well as students with ties to Connecticut.

The SPRINT program was first launched last summer with more than 170 interns participating in paid internships. Interns took part in work ranging from research and development to finance to human resources.

The summer 2023 SPRINT program has more than 20 participating companies so far, including Alexion AstraZeneca, Arvinas, Biohaven, Cybrexa Therapeutics, The Jackson Laboratory, Pfizer – New Haven and Groton, SpringWorks Therapeutics and Yale Ventures.

Arvinas President and CEO John Houston said the company is looking forward to participating in the SPRINT program again.

“Connecticut has a lot to offer, especially in the life science industry, and this important initiative provides the ability for students to get true hands-on experience and opportunities to do impactful work alongside colleagues and leaders from various departments and backgrounds,” Houston said.

The SPRINT internship program offers students a variety of opportunities across scientific, commercial, finance and administrative fields. Interns will have the chance to get a broader understanding of the industry through workshops, talks at various companies and in-person and virtual networking opportunities.

The New Haven Regional Bioscience Collaborative was formed in May 2021 as part of the work of the Governor’s Workforce Council and with industry leadership and support by the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce.
