East Hartford-based Gengras Motor Cars has paid $4.4 million for several Torrington properties anchored by a Subaru dealership.

The purchase included a 19,678-square-foot dealership building at 45 Winsted Road.

Gengras also purchased vacant land at 75 Winsted Road and a warehouse building at 80 Winsted Road, town records show.

The Republican-American in January reported that Gengras was in the process of purchasing the dealership from R. Phil Porter. The deal appears to have been completed as the business has been renamed Gengras Subaru Torrington.

This represents the latest expansion for Gengras Motor Cars. A few years ago it purchased Crowley’s Ford and Volkswagen dealerships in Plainville.

A representative from Gengras didn’t respond to a request for comment.
