Lake Compounce in Bristol is seeking to hire more than 1,000 seasonal employees ahead of the 2024 season, with wages of up to $18 an hour.

The minimum wage in Connecticut recently increased to $15.69.

The park is hiring for all positions including food and beverage, lifeguards, rides and guest experience. Employees receive perks such as free tickets for friends and family, flexible schedules and on-site training, according to an announcement from Lake Compounce.

“Our team members are the park’s greatest asset,” said Libby Dolman, director of people and organization. “We take pride in our employment experience, which offers flexibility and fun to
all of our team members while continuing to focus on hands-on training and a competitive wage.”

There are summer jobs available for anyone over the age of 16, including retirees, the announcement says.

Lake Compounce will open its gates for the 2024 season at 11 a.m. April 27 with several changes.

The 95-year-old Wildcat Roller Coaster returns this year after undergoing a multiyear re-tracking project, which will produce a smoother ride. The park’s other wooden roller coaster, Boulder Dash, also underwent an off-season upgrade, with the addition of nearly 1,000 feet of steel track.
