Major League Baseball has partnered with a Connecticut company as its official water sponsor for the next three years, according to an announcement.

Stamford-based BlueTriton Brands said it will “utilize its new status as a sponsor of MLB to create special offerings for fans,” including MLB-themed packaging.

BlueTriton’s brands of bottled water include Poland Spring, Deer Park, Ozarka, Ice Mountain, Zephyrhills, Arrowhead and Pure Life.

Kheri Tillman, chief marketing officer at BlueTriton, said its brands have been steeped in American culture since the 1800s.

"Just as MLB has been an integral part of American culture for over 120 years, our refreshing water has been a family staple for countless generations of American families,” Tillman said. “It only feels natural that one of America's beloved water companies joins forces with America's favorite pastime."

BlueTriton is a private-equity backed company with more than 7,000 employees. The company manages water resources on more than 20,000 acres of watershed area that it owns.

BlueTriton purchased the former Nestle Waters N.A. in 2021 for $4.3 billion.

Tillman told the Sports Business Journal that the deal will help BlueTriton get its brands into MLB stadiums. Currently, Yankee Stadium is the only MLB venue at which BlueTriton brands are sold, according to the journal.

The MLB's last water sponsor was Pepsi, which held the league's water rights from 1997 to 2016, the publication reported.
