A Middletown car wash property that sold for $700,000 a year ago sold for more than three times as much in February following a complete reconstruction.
A car wash has stood at 593 Washington St. for more than two decades, according to a 2018 report in the Middletown Press. Last March the 1.2-acre property and an associated facility sold to 593 Washington St. Realty LLC for $700,000, according to city assessing records.
Dominick D’Agostino, of Madison, is principal of 593 Washington St. Realty, according to state records.
The property sold again to Middletown Car Wash Property LLC. in a $2.4 million deal recorded on Feb. 14.
According to Deputy Assessor Roger Palmer, the original car wash facility was torn down and replaced with a modern one.
The principals of the latest buyer are James Balise, Timothy Ingerson and Vincent Porzio, all of West Springfield, Mass., according to a state business filing.
The buying limited liability company shares a West Springfield business address with Balise Motor Sales. Reached there Thursday morning, Ingerson referred questions to Balise, who was not immediately available.
