An auto-restoration enterprise will open doors Friday in a former Chrysler dealership in New Britain.
Mayor Erin Stewart will join owner Michael Donnelly in officially opening The Paddock Classic Car Restorations in an 18,000-square-foot office-showroom on 2.5 acres at 285 Columbus Blvd. that once housed Tufano Motorcar Inc. The Scalise family is landlord.
Donnelly, who previously worked in the software industry, said he will initially employ five to restore domestic and foreign automobiles, with plans to double that by year-end.
Services include a body and paint shop, machine shop, mechanical services, storage and consignment sales.
On Saturday, The Paddock will host a grand-opening celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
