TriRx Pharmaceutical services, a Norwalk-based firm that provides development and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical industry, said it has acquired a veterinary products manufacturing facility in France.

Under the deal, TriRx will take over ownership and operation of a manufacturing site in Segré-en Anjou Bleu, France, owned by MSD Sante Animale, a division of New Jersey-based pharma giant Merck & Co.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

TriRx Chairman and CEO Timothy C. Tyson said in a statement that the transaction “allows us to continue our expansion as a global [contract development and manufacturing organization] while assuring continuity of supply of animal health products from the Segrè site.”

The site currently manufactures a range of veterinary products and has over 90 employees, Tyson said.

Tyson said the acquisition will allow the company to expand its service offerings into sterile suspensions and liquids and non-sterile ointments and liquids.

TriRx said it operates facilities providing state-of-the-art laboratory, manufacturing, packaging and warehousing capabilities.

The new facility includes dedicated office, production, sampling and warehouse areas and delivers products to all major global markets, TriRx said.
