A Philadelphia-based law firm is expanding with a new office in New Haven with a goal of serving more clients throughout Connecticut.
The firm, Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, this week celebrated the opening of its newest office, which is in the Granite Square office complex at 700 State St., New Haven.
According to the firm, it has been serving clients in Connecticut for the past eight years, though during this time its nearest office had been in Westchester County, N.Y.
G. Mark Thompson, the firm’s president and CEO, called Connecticut an “obvious choice” as the firm looks to grow strategically.
He referred to New Haven as an ideal location geographically to open a new office.
“The city’s central location enables us to serve both existing and future clients in each of the state’s Judicial Districts and area courts, and we have been thrilled by the welcome we have received,” Thompson said, in an announcement.
Charles T. Gura, a shareholder in the firm’s Health Care Department, will serve as the New Haven office’s managing attorney. Three additional attorneys will also be working there, including Daniel Corde, Caroline E. Skelton and R. David Lane, Jr.
These attorneys represent businesses and insureds across multiple practice areas, such as general casualty litigation, medical and professional liability, premises liability, construction, privacy and data security, asbestos and mold litigation, and transportation matters.
The firm, which was founded in 1962, has its headquarters in Philadelphia. It has approximately 500 attorneys working out of 19 offices in seven states. In addition to Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New York, it also has offices in New Jersey, Delaware, Ohio and Florida.
