Pratt adds Swiss company to network of aftermarket engine centers

Pratt & Whitney announced it has added a Switzerland-based company to its expanding network of geared turbofan engine maintenance and repair partners.

The East Hartford-based aerospace manufacturer announced earlier this month that SR Technics, based in Zurich, Switzerland, will do full assembly, disassembly and test capability for  its PW1100G-JM engines in the A320neo family.

Pratt’s GTF Engine Aftermarket Executive Director Marc Meredith said that with increasing engine orders, the company wanted to expand its maintenance and repair network.

Pratt has been adding European engine centers to its geared turbofan engine maintenance and repair network in recent years. Other partners include MTU Aero Engines and two Lufthansa Technik facilities in Germany; EME AERO in Poland; and OGMA in Portugal.

Pratt said there are currently 10 active geared turbofan engine maintenance and repair engine centers worldwide.
